The Vulture Gold Mine in Wickenburg, Arizona was discovered more than a century ago in October, 1863. It was closed by a Federal Edict called Government Order L-208 in 1942 shortly after America got in World War II. The mine was purchased on November 7, 1961 by Dr. Geroge H Mangun as a site for his organization, The Desert Science Center. This never came to be.
This building was made of rich gold ore and now is said to be valuable enough that the owner would never have to work again in his/her lifetime.
I felt the site and story required the images be converted to black & white. Thank you for indulging my vision.
